Senior Economic Policy Analyst

Ed Kean

Mr. Kean tracks Federal Reserve policy for The Observatory Group. Previously, he was a senior Fed analyst with the G7 Group.   He also tracks developments in Washington, D.C. regarding US fiscal, trade and financial regulatory policies.  Mr. Kean had over 20 years of journalistic experience covering the Fed and served as Chief Washington Financial Correspondent for Bridge News. Over the course of his career, Mr. Kean has developed extensive relationships with Fed policymakers in both Washington and in the regional Fed banks.  He is a past President of the National Economists Club in Washington, D.C.  In addition, he made regular appearances on PBS’s “Nightly Business Report” to discuss global economic issues.  Mr. Kean studied history and economics at American University in Washington and at the University of Maryland, respectively.
