Tyler Grassmeyer

Senior Washington Analyst

Tyler covers the U.S. Congress, elections, and politics. Tyler has spent twenty years as a trusted political, communications, and legislative policy strategist to Senators, members of Congress, and private sector organizations.

Tyler has worked at the pinnacle of politics and policy since 2002, when he joined then Senator Chuck Hagel's communications staff. In 2004, he helped run his first successful campaign for the U.S. Congress, going on to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff and ultimately as Chief of Staff to multiple members of the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2013, Tyler signed on to manage the campaign for U.S. Senate of first-time and little-known political candidate Ben Sasse. Under Grassmeyer's leadership, Sasse set multiple electoral records, winning all of Nebraska's 93 counties in both the primary and general elections. Before joining Observatory Group, Grassmeyer served for nine years as a top advisor to U.S. Senator Ben Sasse -- a member of the Finance, Judiciary, Budget, and Intelligence Committees.

Tyler holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Nebraska. He is husband to Kathryn and Dad to Charlotte, Jack, and Finn.
